| Parking: | Accessible parking at the venue is limited. Arriving early will ensure a parking spot in the Miami Marine Stadium. Once this parking fills up, all other participants and spectators will have to park along the Rickenbacker Causeway or Miami Seaquarium, just pass Marine Stadium. NO ONE (PARTICIPANTS OR SPECTATORS) PARKING IN THE MIAMI MARINE STADIUM WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE IN THEIR CAR UNTIL THE LAST BIKER HAS COME IN – APPROXIMATELY 10:00 AM. Elite Category
Elite Male and Female participants start in the first wave of each event and are only eligible for over all awards.
Age Group Category
Age groups for both male and female start at 14 and under and go in 5 year increments to 80+. (14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, ...., 80+) By USAT rules, athletes’ age groups are determined by their age on December 31st of that year. You age up, not down. This is so that you don’t change age groups in the middle of the year.

SPRINT RACE ONLY
First Time Triathletes (Sprint racers in this category have never competed in a triathlon before. Athletes may choose to register as First Timers or Age Group. Can not register in both categories.

Awards
Awards are given 5 deep in all categories except Relay teams and Fat Tire (overall only). Special awards will be given to the Top 3 Overall Males, Top 3 Overall Females, Top Overall Master Male (40+), and Top Overall Master Female (40+). Those receiving overall and master awards are removed from their age groups, bumping everyone else up in the age group standings. There is no double dipping. If you qualify for overall, you cannot get another award for masters overall or your age group. Participants registered as Elite are ONLY eligible for overall awards.Please stay for the awards ceremony if you are due an award. Unclaimed awards may be mailed if requested within 2 weeks after the event. You must pay $10 for shipping and handling. Please send an email to hdtri@bellsouth.net. Results will be available at the awards presentation. Official race results will be posted at www.chiptimes.com and will also be e-mailed to you within 24 hours after the event.
Timing
Timing will once again be provided by SommerSports. A timing chip will be used for accurate and timely scoring The IPICO chip is a small plastic disk containing a miniature transponder. It is attached to a Velcro band that is worn by the participant around the ankle. You must wear your IPICO chip band at all times during the event in order to be timed. You will be issued your IPICO chip race morning prior to entering the transition area. YOU MUST BRING YOUR RACE NUMBER TO RECEIVE YOUR IPICO CHIP RACE MORNING. This is to ensure that you receive the correct chip number. YOU MAY NOT USE YOUR OWN CHIP FOR THIS RACE. All IPICO chips and ankle bands will be collected at the finish line of the race. If you drop out of the race for any reason, it is your responsibility to return the IPICO chip to the finish line volunteers. Athletes who do not return their IPICO chip will be charged $35.00.Spectators
This is a very family friendly event. Spectators can watch the swim from the edge of the shore. Afterwards, you can go and watch the bike out and stand along the causeway to watch your family members/friends ride by. Finally, you can cheer on competitors who are on the run course as they begin and enter the finish line shoot. SPECTATORS PARKING IN THE MIAMI MARINE STADIUM WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE IN THEIR CAR UNTIL THE LAST BIKER HAS COME IN – APPROXIMATELY 10:00 AM.
